Project Coordinator

The Illinois New Teacher Collaborative in the Bureau of Educational Research based at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, seeks a full time Project Coordinator of Beginning Teacher Induction Pilot Programs.  The Project Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a network among the induction and mentoring projects funded by the Illinois State Board of Education and for monitoring and evaluating the progress of the pilot projects.  The Coordinator will work with INTC staff on activities such as hosting and facilitating working sessions for pilot project participants, visiting each of the projects several times each semester, providing assistance with project implementation, maintaining ongoing communication with the projects, advising on evaluation data collection, collecting project-required data, preparing reports for the Illinois State Board of Education and others, and engaging in outreach across the state.

The position requires a master’s degree in administration, teacher leadership, teacher education, curriculum development, or a closely related field. The position also requires at least five years of experience teaching or working as an administrator in P-12 schools and experience offering professional development programs for educators.  Experience working with induction and mentoring programs is required, as is knowledge of the research on induction and mentoring. Program evaluation experience is desirable.
