INTC Progress
- Added members to the working Partnership Board comprising representatives from private universities, public universities, Two-year public colleges, Illinois Principals' Association, Illinois Center for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Regional Offices of Education, Illinois Education Association, the new teacher pool, Illinois Association of School Administrators, Illinois Federation of Teachers, Illinois State Board of Education, Chicago Civic Committee, school districts, business, and interested guests
- Established a smaller Executive Board for guidance on all INTC policies and activities
- Formed work groups to accomplish specific action items
- Held winter 06 conference "Attracting and Retaining High-Quality Teachers: Local and Statewide Solutions"
- Held winter 07 conference "Induction and Mentoring: Making It Work!" (doubled 2006 attendance)
- Became the administrative home of the Illinois State Board of Education Beginning Teacher Pilot Programs
- Presented at national and state conferences
- Worked with the Illinois Induction Policy Group
- Partnered with the Illinois Education Research Council and SRI International on research on induction and mentoring in Illinois (report available)
- Designed e-mentoring sites with the Chicago Public Schools for four CPS mentoring programs
- Redeveloped the INTC website
- Created the INTC Resources on Demand Database, Mentoring and Induction Bibliography, and Illinois Induction and Mentoring Programs Database
- Established the INTC Online Communities discussion forums
- Secured planning funds from State Farm Companies Foundation and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
