INTC Goals

1. To promote collaboration among all stakeholders concerned with recruiting and retaining quality teachers for all Illinois schools.

2. To design and establish a stable infrastructure that serves as a resource for school districts, universities, teachers’ unions, community colleges, and other institutions that are designing, implementing, improving, evaluating and studying programs, projects, and activities for teachers who are new to the profession.

3. To promote the sharing of resources and expertise across members in order to:

• Design a web-based portal with links to text-based and web-based resources

• Establish an interactive space for Illinois institutions that would provide electronic conferencing capability

• Provide training and ongoing support to those who work with new teachers

4. To assist with the evaluation of impact of various support programs on districts, teachers, and PK – 12 students.
